Art advising, investing and learning

Art Advising

If you’re thinking of starting a collection but are missing knowledge about the process, I’m here to help.

Let’s connect to start defining what you’re interested in collecting and why. There are many questions to ask yourself and knowing the answer to your “why” is a great starting point. Some collections are built on ideas or themes (geographic, period or style-based), others are value investments, and others relate back to personal ideals or mission.

Wherever you are in the process, from a fleeting thought of buying into the art market, to adding works to an already established collection, be guided expertly in the right direction.

Art as Experience

For small groups or larger events,  this in-person or online meditative journey will change the way you look at art forever.

We rush. Through everything. Especially when it comes to art. Data shows that on average, a viewer will spend less than 7-10 seconds looking at a work of art at a museum. And image saturation is real. After an hour or so in a museum setting, we get saturated and stop seeing altogether. We become passive and disengaged and the goal of the experience becomes singular: get through it.

Experiencing art can be something entirely different. It should be about quality, not quantity. It should be refreshing, more engaging, and less fraught with judgment and analysis. The “Art as Experience” process frees the viewer from all of the expectations we carry with us about how we should interpret art and leads to a more psychologically and emotionally fulfilling encounter. It's about looking at less...and seeing more. No prior knowledge of art is needed.

Market Trends

Understanding art market trends can be daunting. In my blog and here on this site I’ll be adding resources for collectors to begin researching ideas and looking at data. This is particularly valuable if you’re most interested in building a collection as an investment.
